About Hi-Tec Window Films

Solar Film

As the cost of fuel for heating and electricity for air conditioning continues to rise, its becoming increasingly expensive to keep buildings at a comfortable temperature. Solar film is primarily designed to keep indoor temperatures more even and therefore reduce summer air conditioning bills and winter heating bills.

Solar film consists of a microscopically thin layer of metal sandwiched in between a film laminate. The film is installed directly onto the surface of your windows. Once installed, it acts as 'window insulation' - helping to contol the temperature. The savings gained in energy costs soon repay the relatively small outlay for the installation. Also, your staff and customers will thank you for the the increased comfort and reduced glare

Rejects up to 82% of all solar energy
Keeps up to 19% of inside heat from escaping in cold weather
Blocks nearly 100% of ultaviolet transmission - considerably reducing sun damage to furnishings
Reduces glare making a far more comfortable environment
Maintains daytime transparency of your windows

In addition to these benefits, the addition of solar film is also one of the most cost-effective way to rejuvenate a property’s exterior appearance. A variety of shades, colors and performance levels are available and can easily be coordinated with a property’s interior or exterior for a more contemporary look.

Standard Solar films also provide an increased measure of shatter resistance to windows and glass doors because the film and it's special mounting adhesive helps hold glass fragments in place. This has particular benefits in shop windows where the film not only prevents fade of window displays but also seriously deters smash and grab thieves. However, if safety and security are paramount concerns you should look at installing safety film
